Man: Number One Enemy to Planet Earth

I copied this story from Domino's Cat Rescue League website (without permission). My friend and cat mentor, Maris, is President there. She keeps telling me, "Vicci, you can't save them all," as she has done everything within her power to help me save each and every one that crosses my path.
This story almost makes the ones who abandons their cats at someone else's house look like nice people.Just leave them, toss them out, hope for the best.
I understand being abused. I understand being overwhelmed. But I will never understand this. They might have had a fighting chance if at least left outside.
It makes me hate men like Francis Schaeffer who perpetuated through the Christian religion that man is superior to animals. Man is not superior. Man is a murderer. How many animals could the Christian church save if it turned its eyes and its dollars in that direction? What church do you know that ever made a donation to an animal shelter?
Schaeffer was more concerned that art might lead to sex than elevating all of life.
Maybe he didn't say to kill the animals, but he certainly added to the mindset they haven't much value.
These comments are mine and have no reflection on the wonderful people at Domino's House. Maris and I have never discussed anything but the latest issue with feeding, vetting and caring for my cats. If she wishes she could get through one day without hearing from me, she would never let on. She always gives 100% and has saved lives at my house and encouraged me when I, too, have become overwhelmed. There is very little help for the domestic animal. And the handful of us who care about rescuing them are deeply wounded when we hear stories like this.

I just want to say STOP the alienation. STOP the killing. STOP the hearts and minds that don't care and think it is okay, 'they are just animals.' I don't want to see anyone perish, but those who deliberately kill, I hope their kingdoms fall. Let cruelty and indifference perish.

Many of us sacrifice so much to help save these animals. But the sacrifice is not ours alone to make. It belongs to the whole world. Man should be the caretaker, not the life taker. It is such an easy task but man had rather serve his lower self.

In the small town I live in, right now the bars are filled with retired men who are just a tired old cliche, spending their money on booze and hoping to get laid. When you ask them if they know about the Law of Attraction, yeah, they know, it's all about hooking up. And I am not against that kind of hooking up, but unfortunately, I respect intelligence and when I talk, they haven't a clue, can't grasp the concept. I just shake my head. Usually, I don't go out for conversation. I go to hear the music and dance; and I don't need a dance partner. It is fun having a partner, but sorry, dude, you usually just cramp my style. I would cut you a break if you had any gumption and intelligence. I could write page after page about your idiocy and insults. You are to productivity what Francis Schaeffer was to animal rights.

And the point I am trying to make is, if everyone just gave a little, just a little, we could accomplish so much. Where were the neighbors? Where were the relatives?  Somebody had to know those cats were in that house.  Nobody cared. We are alienated from each other. We don't want to know. We don't want to be bothered. Love and Compassion from anywhere, anyone, would have saved those animals from suffering. I hate your indifference. I hate you imbecility.

I know what can be accomplished by one person. I am one of those people. I know that the mind can continue to grow and expand to create a better world. I am one of those people, too. You worry about me when I don't show up at the bar. Don't worry about me. Help me if you want to, but I don't need your worry. My Universe and My I AM has my back.

For the price of a beer and just an hour or two a week of sitting on your butt at the bar hoping to get laid, you could help save the animals; help give one or a few a better life. Build a dog house, a cat house, bring some food. Take up a special collection. You have skills! Use them! With no expectations. Love and compassion is the only thing that will fully satisfy your soul. It takes awareness and true intellect to look around and see what good you can do to raise the vibration of this world; to raise your own vibration.

Here is the story:

Saying Goodbye
( A cat tells his and his sister's story from abandonment to death)

My name is Boots. I used to live with a very nice family that adopted me and my sister Fluffy from an animal shelter not too far from our home. We are 7 years old and if I might say very pretty kitties indeed!! I have a beautiful shiny black coat and my sister is a calico with large bright red and orange patches on her sleek coat. Our whiskers are long and graceful.

When we first came to our new home we were the THE most important new arrivals in the house. We were given new toys, neat scratching posts and all the best of food. We even got our own bed!!! My sister and I were really loved.

Recently our family started shouting and crying and we were not treated the same. Our litter boxes always needed cleaning but no one seemed to care. One day our family took all the furniture, their belongings, even took our favorite chair and left us alone. I KNEW they would be back because they left a bowl of water and dry food on the bare kitchen floor and closed the front door and drove away. They will be back soon I told Fluffy. Many days followed and my sister didn't understand when our bowls were empty of food and water – they ALWAYS fill our empty bowls. Where are they? We became hungry and had to use the empty floor to go to the bathroom as our box was too full to use.

What seems years but really was only two weeks a truck pulled up in our driveway – we are saved – they are back my sister said. These people were not our family but put us in a cage and took us to a large building where they had loads of barking dogs and cats meowing everywhere. We were glad to be put together and they gave us water and some food. Thank you we said. Now our folks will find us and take us home.

No one came for a few days and my sister became depressed and I could no longer tell her we will see our family again. The next day a worker there at this big place took us both in a “special” room that did not smell nice. We both were given an injection that stung and made us very sleepy. A moment later an long needle was stuck in our chest and a syringe full of euthanasia solution stopped our heart. We both died in that cold room that day – humans called it euthanasia. Our final thoughts were WHY?? What did we do wrong? Where are our folks who once loved us so?

In memory of Binny - - 9 week old black kitten left to die in abandoned house along with her Mom. A realtor rescued both and brought them to Domino's House. Two days later Binny died of complications from organ failure due to starvation despite veterinary care and constant 24 hour monitoring and treatment. Binny quietly died in a fuzzy warm blanket on Maris' lap.

Mom is still recovering, gains more strength each day, and will hopefully soon be adopted by a loving caretaker.
